He's crawling for real, folks!

Happy Monday!! David turned 10 months old on the 27th, and has really started to crawl. He sometimes gets going pretty darn quick too. Any bets on when he will start walking? He can already push himself up onto his legs, so that they are straightened out, but hasn't stood up yet....he is trying really hard, though. I think that he will be "cruising" as they say, before he is one year old.

Paul is at his second full day of kindergarten, and already has a cold. Oh well....what can you expect with all of those kids at school, probably sneezing all over each other. I don't want to even think about it. : ( He will be fine though.

David is about to wake up from his nap, and we (three) are going to run some errands. I miss my little Paulie!! Can't wait to see him at 3pm!!

funny little guys

Henry and David enjoy playing with each other about 10% of the time, and Brian was able to get a quick video of them in action. Paul is pretending to be a chipmunk or baboon or something, in the background. I can't remember....you can hear him, and see him running around on the floor.

I will be posting some more recent photos tomorrow or Friday. Definitely this weekend too, though, because Paul's first full day of Kindergarten is FRIDAY!!!

Blueberry picking

A quick trip to Goss Berry Farms to pick some high bush blueberries with the boys. It was a hot one that day....in the 90s and NO breeze....needless to say we didn't stay long. We are going to go back this week and pick some more though.
Happy Monday!!

Our 2009 trip to Valpo

This year we traveled to Valparaiso, IN first and then to Lake Ontario. We arrived at 130 Philip Lane on July 24th, after driving 1100+ miles in the car, over the course of 3 days, and staying in 2 hotels (which the boys LOVED!). We had a great trip, but were all very happy to be out of the car, and with Grandma and Papa Dimitri.

Living a short distance from Midway Airport is very exciting for young boys....especially when it means that Southwest jets fly over the house every 5 minutes during a certain time of day. Here the boys are imitating the jets flying over the house.....

Papa Jon made malts TWICE during our visit, much to the boys' excitement, and delight!

"What do you think of the malts, Henry??"

"And Paulie??"

David enjoyed his bath in the kitchen sink!!

Nothing like a little blue raspberry cotton candy in the hot Indiana sun. Here they are at the Porter County Fair....we looked at the animals, the 4H exhibits, and the food and games.

Melissa and I planned a surprise 40th Wedding Anniversary party for Jane and Jon. Here is the cake. We invited some of their best buddies and we had a yummy cookout!! It was a lot of fun, and we really surprised the happy couple!! : )

Here Mel and I are "cooking"....and drinking a little too.....

Here are Jane and Jon, with Aunt Kathi Dimitri, the Bickels and Briars.

Melissa made a BEAUTIFUL quilt out of 9 different screen printed pictures of various members of the family.....from BenKat, Jeff and Melissa, and the Maine Dimitris. They LOVED it!!

Here Henry is playing the beanbag toss game, in the backyard....he was really good at it, and loved playing it too!!

Jane, Jon, David and Henry playing in the backyard. The weather that week was the BEST weather I have ever experienced in my 17!!! summer visits to Indiana.

The proud Grandma and baby David!

We had such a wonderful visit, and I know that GJ and PJ are counting the days until their December visit.

"The Lake"....2009

We had SOOOO much fun at Lake Ontario this summer, and would have stayed longer but David was not sleeping, thus Mommy was not sleeping.....so, we drove home a day or two earlier. We made lots of memories, and here are just a few of the photos from our week at Selkirk.

The boys in Nini's kayak. They really got the hang of it...pretty scary, at ages 2 and 4! Nini was impressed!

I never get tired of these sunsets.....I have probably seen over 400 of them in lifetime, but each one is still very special.

David Carl in the famous kitchen "tub", that every Bliss/Marczak/Dimitri child has been in.....three generations in that sink. Not bad!

Paul bought a new fishing pole, and now Daddy wants to buy one too, so that they can both going fishing together, for real.....Paul got really good at casting out. And enjoyed it a lot!

David crawling on the floor in the living room.

Henry taking some time to chill out on the side porch. I had to take a picture, because he rarely sits still like this to play.

Henry picking up rocks to throw in the lake. That day was so wavy...(HOW WAVY WAS IT??) It was so wavy, that there were a few people SURFING!!
