Last day of school! (and more...)

Our annual traditional for the last five years or more, has been to eat lobsters and clams for dinner on the last day on school. This year, we had our lobsters a little later than usual, but we still had them....on June 24th!! Here's hoping that we have a better, milder winter this year, and don't have 8 snow days, so we can get out of school a little more before the 4th of July!!

The lobsters and clams were delicious!! Paul enjoyed the clams a lot, and Brian even gave him a whole claw's worth of lobster meat. What a nice daddy!! Henry had buttered saltines, and one bite of mommy's lobster (she's not as generous with her lobster as daddy is). Of course, the boys also had some sandwiches for dinner as well.

Some more recent photos of the boys in their natural element....Henry reading on the couch. He may not talk yet, but he can READ!!

And here Paul is holding a weeks-old chick in his shirt. Our friends, Lori and Todd, are raising 11 chicks for their eggs that they will start laying this fall. (I can't wait for the cheap/free eggs we will be getting soon!). Can anyone say swiss and mushroom omelets!! YUM-O!! Hope you all are doing well!! See our IN family soon.......Can't wait! Love you guys!!

A day in Freeport!

Mom, Paul, Henry and I enjoyed some fun in the sun recently in good, ole Freeport, Maine. First we traveled to Wolfe's Neck Farm for a while, and visited Paul's favorite rooster (see the May 15th posting). Had a snack and enjoyed a nice walk by the ocean. The tide was out and we saw some egrets feeding on the mud flats. It was picturesque.
Then, we rode over to the Harraseeket Restaurant (http://www.freeportusa.com/freeportmember081.html) for some fresh haddock sandwiches (the best I have ever had!) with french fries (the boys had grilled cheese and juice). What a gorgeous June day in Maine it was. Just perfect...75 degrees and sunny, and no humidity, just the way I like it. In the picture above, Henry is ready for his sandwich, and trying to escape, but you can see the town wharf behind them. It was beautiful!!
Brian is almost out of school......7 more days, but how is counting?

Buy me some peanuts and crackerjack...

"I don't care if I ever get back!"
Well, Brian, Paul and I went to the Sea dogs game last night, while my Mom watched Henry. I bought the tickets about 6 weeks ago, and Paul had been getting more and more excited as the weeks went on. Yesterday morning, at breakfast, Paul said, "Is today the day we go to the SEA DOGS???!!!" And when I said yes, I thought that he was going to fall out of his chair. He was really excited, and couldn't wait to go. The game was great, the weather was perfect. It could only be a baseball game in Maine when you use the AC on the way down and the heat on the way home from the game.
We had yummy hot dogs, french fries (with vinegar- a Maine thing, I think) and of course some ice cream sundaes in the sixth inning. There were LOTS of foul balls ( 2 people had to leave the stadium due to injuries) , and one fell directly in front of us. Brian really wished he had caught it!! Paul did an awesome job and was very well -behaved. He loved Slugger and was less apprehensive about the trash monsters this time. All in all, it was a wonderful evening with our first son, Paulie!!

The Three Amigos....

It has been a while since I have posted (other than the one about 3D, above), so I thought that I should post one about the boys. This picture was completely Brian's idea. I was going through hats from a friend and found the one that Henry's is wearing, and it just took off from there. Brian gave Paul a hat, and Brian found one from a Cinco De Mayo party we went to at Margarita's (back in the day!!).

Here is an outake from our photo shoot......love that Henry!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

20 weeks down, and 20 to go!

Yesterday, we had the ultrasound for Baby D 3, or "3D", as we like to call him or her. My mom was able to babysit, so that Brian could attend as well. It was very special for Brian and I to see our 3rd child swimming around and to hear from the technician that everything looks good so far. The baby weighs about 13 ounces now and the technician said that by looking at the measurements, I am within 5 days of my original due date, which is October 23rd. Continue to keep thinking good thoughts for "3D" and we will all be able to meet him or her in about 4.5 months, or so.
