Hoops, baby!!!

David LOVES playing basketball.

I was trying to get a video of his great skills...but he wasn't really playing along.

He gets one good shot in, and the rest is silliness. : )

Pine Point July 2010

We are in the middle of a HEATWAVE here in Maine. Night time temperatures haven't been below 65 degrees or so in about a week. It has been in the 90s every day this week, and dew point temps have been in the high 60s, and low 70s....ridiculously sticky!!

So we decided that we had better go to the BEACH!! The ocean was perfect. We got there as the tide was going out, and stayed for over 3 hours. It was wonderful. No one really wanted to leave, but it was time for some napping. : ) And we decided that we should probably get out of the sun.

Daddy and David enjoying some refreshing watermelon.

My four boys....

Say, "CHEESE!!!"

Love those guys!!

A view from our spot in the sand. Gorgeous day! So warm, a little breeze, and we were in the water about 80% of the time. It was awesome!!

Paul lost his first tooth!!

(So, apparently I need to wipe Paul's face more often.....but, anyway....)

Paul lost his first tooth on July 2nd. It was loose for about 8 days and he ended up pushing it out with his tongue while he was outside playing, and it fell on the driveway. I tried to pull it out earlier that morning, but it had little bit left to go. I am glad that he lost it on his own terms, and he was very excited when the tooth fairy left him a $1 on his dresser in the morning. : )

Summer 2010 thus far.....

Yesterday morning, we drove to a local strawberry patch in Poland, Maine.....@ Chipman Farms. It was the first time that the boys had ever gone strawberry picking. I have gone a few times before, and the last time that I went I was pregnant with Henry (that may explain why he LOVES strawberries!!). We had a great time, everyone was well behaved, and we tasted some incredibly delicious berries. SOOO much better than the store. I can't even compare the difference in quality. It is like night and day!! Here are some pictures from our little trip.

This summer has reall been awesome so far. The weather really has been great, and we have been outside part or most of every day the past few weeks.
Last night, we had our first movie night of the summer with Paul and Henry. We watched the first Toy Story. The boys received the DVD from Grandma Jane and Papa Jon for Christmas.
The boys and I took a trip to CVS in the afternoon so that they could pick out their own candy bars. We also let them have their very first soda ever. Paul thought that was especially neat!!

LAST day of school!!

So, Paul's LAST DAY of Kindergarten was today, June 8, 2010! What a crazy, fun, and FAST year that was....phew! I am worn out, but Paul learned so much and had a great time. I can't believe that growth that he achieved over the past 10 months. Truly amazing! Learning how to write words, then sentences, and then reading them too! Drawing pictures and writing a story to go with them! Expressing himself in so many ways, and becoming more independent...tying his shoes on his own! Picking out his clothes, getting dressed, and getting ready for school all by himself. It is really wonderful watching him grow up right before my eyes. : )

Below is the first day of school in August 2009....followed by 2 pictures from today, the last day of school, June 8, 2010.

Here is Paul running into school, on his last day of Kindergarten! : )

This is a picture of the boys last night at Park Ave. We went to a family picnic and to listen to a Steel Drum Band! It was GREAT!! The boys danced and ran all over the place after eating dinner. We ordered out some Italian sandwiches, and brought chips and drinks and brownies!! LOTS of fun!

The May Fair 2010

Paul's school, Park Avenue Elementary, had their annual May Fair this past Saturday, May 8th. We had a great time, and luckily Nini came with us, so we could go "man-to-man" with our defense!! : )

Here I am telling Paul and Henry how to play the "cake walk". Paul gives it a thumbs up, and is ready to go!!

You will notice in the second picture just how serious Paul is, and how much he wants that cake. They played one time, but neither of them won. And then they tried it one more time before lunch, and Paul won a cake! He was SO excited, and is displaying the cake that he got to pick out himself!!

Here the boys are in the bouncy house! I was not too excited about this, especially since they had never been in one before. But since they went in it with only other young children, Bri and I figured it would be OK.

They LOVED it!! And fortunately, Henry didn't completely freak out when the timer buzzed and they had to get out of it. : )

They also had lots of games for the kids to play, for free! The boys' favorite game of the day was the fishing game. Here they are with their catches of day!!

Lastly, we had lunch in Paul's cafeteria. We ate hot dogs, cheeseburgers, popcorn, water, and some sweet treats that Nini bought for the boys. We had a great time, and everyone was ready for naps after lunch.
We are already looking forward to next year's Fair....but first we can look forward to the Fall Festival in September!!
